Norman Medieval Fair

We’re excited to be returning back to Norman Medieval Fair again! We’ll be in space 197, across from the Memorial Flag pole, across from the security trailer, and next to the big playground. We have some new items, colors, and designs to share with you all! Plus, our friends from Perth Pewter and Blue Thistle Pottery are back this year. We’re travelling out with the folks from American Highlander Kilts for their first time. If you have asked us about the kilts our mannequins wear, now is your chance to get one! They have over 16 tartans plus 4 military tartans to choose from, in both men’s and women’s sizes. Come visit!

We’re excited for the year

We’re working hard on getting product together for Norman in less than a month.  The Burb is getting some maintenance work.  Leather is being cut, stripped, beveled, sewn, riveted, snapped, strapped, dyed, braided, and glued (but not all at once!).  We’ve got some new designs coming ( I admit I am a Star Wars fan so there may be an influence).  Some new colors.  Beyond that we are working on uploading videos on how to wear a halter and, how to wear our hooded short capes/cowls.  So come visit us in Norman in April.  If that’s too far, we will be at Spoutwood’s Festival again this year.  That’s in May.  Or maybe you want to sample some beer during Brewfest at Mt. Hope.  Hope to see some of you!

New Year

I realize I have slacked and not updated in a while. In my defense, this last year has been challenging. Between finally learning what the root cause of some recent health setbacks, the other half finally getting a job closer and moving in (combining two full households in the middle of my busy season with only 2 weeks notice is not easy!), and recent staff challenges and changes, things just had to be put on the back burner for a bit.
This coming year will be a challenge again as I start to work on stock for Norman with a frozen shoulder, a shop still not back in workable shape, and worries about who will work when and where; but it will happen. It always does. Life has a funny way of making sure the possibilities are there.

A month til PARF opens

So it’s a month to the Pennsylvania renaissance Faire opens on the first Saturday of August.  I look forward to this every year as it is my home show; the show where the bug bit me to be part of this world.  I have come a long way- intern, informistress, cart monkey, booth monkey, salesperson, booth owner, artisan.  The road I walked to get here was pretty long and so not paved or easy to trek along.  There were giant hills and major hollows; mud and stone; flood waters and snow; sunshine and rain.  Yet here I am about to start down that road again to a show that lasts thirteen weekends.  They are long days to get ready for but I do it with a smile.  Old friends will return and new ones will be made.  The smell of unworked leather hides inspires me to create pieces that will bring long memories for those who buy my wares.  It’s a month til we open.  Let me take a breath… and now I run with scissors as i attack those leather hides.

May Day Faire at Spoutwood Farm (aka Fairie Fest)

Come visit at Spoutwood Farm this weekend in Glen Rock.  We’re booth #13 on Frodo!

The Twisted World

I have spent the last two days trying to find my motivation to start getting product made for the next week’s event in NJ, Divine Decadence (http://thetwistedworld.com/).  I think I found some after working in the garden for a bit and finally unloading both vehicles from the back to back shows I just did. There will be pictures to follow of some of the new and old products as I create.  Still time to plan to attend.  Click the link and see what all is planned!

  It’s going to be blast!
